TV PREMIERES: (Fall 2017)

Hi Everyone! As most of you may know I got a double concussion back in June and have recently had to take a mini-hiatus from the blogging world. However, my recovery has slowly been coming along so I wanted to jump back in with a preview of the best new and returning TV shows for Fall 2017. See below for a showcase of five brand new action-packed dramas, as well as all the information you need for my favourite returning shows!

BRAND NEW SHOWS!

1) ‘The Brave’

Premiere Date & Time: Mon Sept 25 @ 10 PM

Network: NBC

Main Stars: Mike Vogel (‘Cloverfield’) and Anne Heche (‘Donnie Brasco’)

Summary:

Back in the mid-2000s, I was in love with the TV drama ‘The Unit’ which focused on the missions of a special ops Delta Force team and the home lives of their families. The new NBC drama ‘The Brave’ has a similar feel as it brings together a mismatch of remarkable combat and intelligence specialists, in order to execute high-risk missions that no other U.S. organization will touch. I’m excited to see how the show will unveil and if the back-story of the characters will be revealed over the series like ‘Criminal Minds’, or if they will focus solely on the missions.

2) ‘The Good Doctor’

Premiere Date & Time: Mon Sept 25 @ 10 PM

Network: ABC

Main Stars: Freddie Highmore (‘Bates Motel’) and Nicholas Gonzalez (‘Pretty Little Liars’)

Summary:

‘The Good Doctor’ is an intriguing new medical drama that looks like a cross between ‘House’, ‘The Big Bang Theory’ and ‘Grey’s Anatomy’. The story follows the trials and tribulations of Shaun Murphy, a surgical candidate with autism and savant syndrome portrayed by child movie star Freddie Highmore. His performance seems to incorporate hints of the arrogance of Dr. House, as well as the misinterpreted social queues of Dr. Sheldon Cooper. I’m eager to see how the season will incorporate flashes of Shaun’s dysfunctional childhood with the drama of his surrounding surgical candidates.

3) ‘SEAL Team’

Premiere Date & Time: Wed Sept 27 @ 9 PM

Network: Global

Main Stars: David Boreanaz (‘Bones’) and Max Thieriot (‘Bates Motel’)

Summary:

I have always loved films that focus on the training and missions of U.S. Navy SEALs such as ‘American Sniper’, ‘G.I. Jane’, ‘Lone Survivor’ and ‘Tears of the Sun’, which is why I’m interested in the new Global drama ‘SEAL Team’. Similar to ‘The Brave’, this series will follow an incredible team of operatives as they execute high-risk missions. However, I believe this series will reflect the style of ‘The Unit’ by incorporating both the dangerous side of the teams’ lives as well as the impact their sacrifice has on their home lives.

4) ‘Wisdom of the Crowd’

Premiere Date & Time: Sun Oct 1 @ 8:30 PM

Network: Global

Main Stars: Jeremy Piven (‘Entourage’) and Natalia Tena (‘Game of Thrones’)

Summary:

‘Wisdom of the Crowd’ is a creative new mystery drama that follows father Jeffrey Tanner (Jeremy Piven) as he uses an evidence sharing crowdsourcing app to solve the murder of his daughter. With the help of the original Detective that worked his daughter’s case, a genius engineer, a tech-savvy programmer and a genius hacker they will spend the series piecing the puzzle together in order to find the real killer.

5) ‘S.W.A.T.’

Premiere Date & Time: Thurs Nov 1 @ 10 PM

Network: Global

Main Stars: Shemar Moore (‘Criminal Minds’) and Kenny Johnson (‘Bates Motel’)

Summary:

I am thrilled Global has chosen to do a TV reboot of the 2003 S.W.A.T. film, especially as my favourite former FBI agent Derek Morgan (Shemar Moore) from ‘Criminal Minds’ has taken on the lead role of Sgt. Daniel ‘Hondo’ Harrelson. The series will follow Hondo alongside his team of highly-trained officers as they band together to protect the citizens of Los Angeles. I’m interested to see how this show will compare to both ‘The Brave’ and ‘SEAL Team’ as well as which series will prevail in getting picked up for a second season!

So looking forward to Will and Grace.

Enjoyed the pilot of The Brave.. The previews gave most of the plot away, but it was good to watch. Looking forward to the next episode to see if the intensity continues. Also looking forward to Seam Team and am curious to see how it differs from The Brave.
