IN THEATRES: May (2015)

May is one of my all-time favourite months for movie releases, because it is always packed with excellent films to kick off the summer! Due to my overwhelming excitement, I’ve chosen to feature four films this month because I definitely will be going to see each one of them in theatres!

1) Avengers: Age of Ultron – In Theatres Friday May 1st

I have been mentally preparing for Avengers: Age of Ultron since all the way back when Marvel announced a sequel was in the works, so this release has definitely been a long time coming for me! Also, when the second trailer released back in January I had a full blown Marvel Avengers marathon and wrote one of my first CCC posts about my excitement! Check out the link below for that post, as it is a great way to get caught up on what is to come from Age of Ultron‘s release!

2) Pitch Perfect 2 – In Theatres Friday May 15th

Anna Kendrick as Beca, Rebel Wilson as Amy, and the rest of the Barden Bellas are all back for the highly anticipated sequel Pitch Perfect 2! After humiliating themselves at an important Lincoln Center performance, the Barden Bellas enter a worldwide competition to regain their pride and the right to perform for their school! I absolutely loved the comedy and song choices of the first film, so I can’t wait to laugh and sing along to the new release!

3) San Andreas – In Theatres Friday May 29th

San Andreas is an action-adventure disaster film that focuses on a massive earthquake in California that is large enough to be felt throughout the United States. Dwayne Johnson takes on the lead role of this film as a rescue-helicopter pilot who attempts to reconcile with his ex-wife (Carla Gugino) as he searches to find his estranged daughter (Alexandria Daddario) who is trapped in San Francisco. Dwayne has been posting a ton of videos and pictures on his social media platforms about San Andreas, so I’m extremely interested to see how he performs in this epic disaster film!

4) Aloha – In Theatres Friday May 29th

Aloha is a new romantic comedy that follows celebrated military contractor Brian Gilcrest (Bradley Cooper), and his decision to return to the site of his greatest career triumphs. Upon arrival he seeks out his old love (Rachel McAdams), but becomes conflicted as he begins falling for the Air Force pilot (Emma Stone) that has been assigned to supervise his visit. I think this film will be adorably amazing, as it contains a ton of my favourite actors/actresses and has a fun storyline.

If the four films I’ve chosen aren’t exactly what you are looking for this month, check out the following list for three other highly anticipated films releasing in May!

Hot Pursuit 2

  • Hot Pursuit (In Theatres Friday May 8th): is an action comedy film that follows a small-time police officer (Reese Witherspoon) as she attempts to protect the widow (Sofia Vergara) of a big-time drug dealer from hard core criminals and dirty cops!

Mad Max Fury Road 2

  • Mad Max: Fury Road (In Theatres Friday May 15th): is a post-apocalyptic action film that centres upon people that fight to the death in a desert wasteland. The film follows Loner Max (Tom Hardy) after he chooses to team up with mysterious woman Furiousa (Charlize Theron), in order to survive the wrath of their enemies.

Tomorrowland 2

  • Tomorrowland (In Theatres Friday May 22nd): is a science fiction adventure film that follows Frank (George Clooney) and Casey (Britt Robertson) as they travel to Tomorrowland, a place where their actions directly affect the world around them.
